I wrote the aforementioned conversion programs (such as MDB2DBC). But I wrote them in 2000, 7 years ago :-)
I didn't use ADO, instead I used the Access object model exposed via COM. I believe it's still possible to pound data into Access this way but, alas, I misplaced my utility source code long ago.
