>> You are entitled to your opinions just as I am to mine.

No argument there, it's just that your opinion on this issue, which as you know I don't entirely disagree with, never seems to take anything positive into account.

> I saw Mr. Green's message the other day, and I personally have seen him logged into UT on at least one occasion several months back. But I would hazard the guess that this was Mr. Green's *first* message here. Perhaps he is actually starting to implement Gate's new 'policy' that MS has to get closer to its users?

I know he posts messages with some regularity on another FoxPro newsgroup, but only Michel knows how often he logs in here. Either way I'm quite certain he's heard all of the complaints and that he gets more than enough feedback.

> By the way, I have never for a moment doubted Mr. Green's sincerity and intentions regarding VFP. But it looks to me like he is getting nowhere fast (and possibly somewhere very very slowly).

Thank you. I was going to post something in defense of Robert personally at first, but after I read your message a few times I didn't really see anything negative directed directly towards Robert.

> You certainly are correct when you say that I *don't* like the direction MS is taking VFP. We are getting virtually *no* improvements in what might be called the "tier-1" aspects of the language,

Actually, I think there's much more improvement in this area in 6 than there was in 5.0.

> we still with VFP 6 have an inoperative OUT PROCESS "tier-2" capability (maybe it can happen with lots of 'outside' software, but not by itself)

I don't really think this is that big of an issue for you, but it is improved. It still has a way to go though. This is one area (IN PROCESS vs. OUT OF PROCESS) that I don't know much about.

> and there is no way to know if the documentation generally and Help in particular will be vastly improved (as it needs to be) with VFP 6.

Does MS make any products with good documentation? This isn't really a VFP specific issue. I've never looked at the manuals for any of the VFP versions, but I think the help file for 5.0 is great and 6.0's is - for the most part - better.

> *I* am the most damaging thing going as far as VFP is concerned - come on, Mike. If that was anywhere near true then we are in far more trouble than anyone can imagine.

I've actually had people that I've spoken to in sales calls mention you specifically by name when questioning the future of FoxPro. You're certainly not alone to blame here, but as a vendor, I know the doom and gloom in the community are really taking a toll on the product.

> I happen to think that my criticism is *constructive* in nature and objective. You do not.

Actually, for the most part I do, it's just that I don't really see you recognizing anything positive that has happened and I think there are a lot of issues that you tend to ignore. I also don't like to see others who are touting the positives criticized. I do respect your opinion and I think you have a lot to contribute, it's just the means that I often take exception to.
