I am answering John's question "So are you saying the French, German, Spanish and English are all the same". I am saying they are not the same but share a lot in common; religion or history or culture or whatever or philosophy. Enough in common to be able to form the EU and make it work. Much like native Hawiians and Texans. They are clearly not the same but have enough in common to bind together to form part of a larger and more powerful group.
