No offense taken. It probably has something to do with our past. Once upon a time a lot of swiss had to hire in foreign armies to make a living (actually, often the only way to be able to live). And they often were/got "slaughtered". Like the OZ and New Zealand troops during WWII.

BTW, we're no longer allowed to hire in foreign armies. But never expect a Swiss to avoid a fight if he feels it's necessary. You might get surprised.

Switzerland often offered it's services, so that two parties/countries at war got the opportunity to sit at a table and eventually to make peace again. And that's only possible cause we are neutral.
