Hi Jim.
>MS does not have to "support" the OS any longer, but it damn well has to make it easy for people to buy a fully up-to-date version of any operating system they've ever sold.
So General Motors should keep mint condition versions of every car in every year they've ever produced in a warehouse somewhere because somebody somewhere sometime might want to buy one?
What about applications? Should I be able to buy an original year VisiCalc made in 1979 from the manufacturer?
I don't see how the manufacturer of any product *owes* anything to its customers other than what it has promised and they've paid for: you can buy product X for the next Y years, it works as intended, and we'll support for next Z years.
