>>>My kid was making a mud pie today and it didn't turn out the way she wanted. Yes folks, her terra flopped.

>>I was really good at making mud pies, and taught my younger brother how to do it when I was three. Somehow my mom put up with all this and much more. I was very neat as I recall and did not get my clothes dirty, but my brother is a different story! :)

>We didn't make mud pies as pies, we made clay cannons. Clay can be found pretty much anywhere, just dig two shovels deep and you'll hit it. Knead some clay into a sort of cube, about fist size, and press a hole into one of the wider sides until it almost goes through the other end, but not quite. Then slam it on the ground as hard as you can, hole side down. The clay will deform and press the air in the hole to go where it can - which means it'll have to burst its way through the upper side. The louder bang you get, the better your cannon was. And you can recycle it endlessly.

That is something I enjoyed about raising our son and daughter. I got to have fun! :)
