Good question. I had that discussion with him a few days ago. He will only be accessing our foxpro data, reading and maybe writing.

We are replacing our phone system. The new phone system claimed to be ODBC compatible but we just found out that only meant it could talk to SQL Server or Oracle. The guy claims to have mapped to the directory in question but still could not access the foxpro tables. The phone software can only access data via IP.

Any suggestions?

>Why can't he connect via odbc? Will he be running your app or just accessing data on the table? An odbc or even mapped network drive would work as long as your firewall allows his ip address to get through...
