I somehow don't see people coming here with life threatening problems. So, my doubts that you can save a life on UT. You can save bits of life, though - by having someone not waste dozens of hours on a problem you solved already.

And I hope you don't change anyone's life here :). If your religion works for you, good. If it gives you the urge to change other people's lives by expanding it, I'll object.

Sure it can. It can get your neighbors against you by branding you as a sinner and whatnot. That will surely change your life. It can have its sheep riled up against your book, and ruin your life's work. That will surely change your life. They can tell you what not to eat, whom not to marry. That will surely change your life.
