Just as medical science cannot explain the cause nor find the cure for every disease that exists, I have no problem concluding that it can't explain just every cure.>
>Nor do most doctors. I saw cancer patients more than once who spontaneously got better- their tumor vanished. IMHO (unscientific hunch) something flicks on an immune response that causes a ferocious counterattack against the tumor cells. Also IMHO the eventual cure for cancer may well consist of a molecule assembled specifically for each patient's tumor cells, designed to grab hold of the tumor cell surface and expose an irresistable "kick me" sign for the immune system.
Sounds like a good plan. I'd just add acupuncture to tell the organism to fire up its defenses.
>As for faith and alternative therapy- I remain convinced that attitude has *heaps* to do with outcome. Apart from divine intervention, if faith helps create positivity, it also helps cure.
I've read that yogis can regulate their heart beat and blood pressure by power of will. Some people can fool the polygraph. If such feats of control of mind over body can work for some people, I imagine that the dire need may trigger some more powerful reaction from the body (by will or just general attitude or even unconsciously). Whichever external factor helps, doesn't matter - be it the will to outlive your enemy, or just simple lust for life, or a fighter's stance, or even a religious experience. Whatever works.
