1120919The Thread you mention is very useful as it mentioned IDENT_CURRENT(). I didn't know of this function. And in fact when I replace SCOPE_IDENTITY with IDENT_CURRENT('mytable'), I get some value and not a dreaded NULL. I know that IDENT_CURRENT can be a problem as it what they refer to as it "crosses over connections". But at least I get some value.
I know that SCOPE_IDENTITY() worked for me before, I just don't remember whether it was with SQL 2000 or this one, SQL 2005.
