I am busy packing for a one week vacation with my family on the Canary Islandsright now, so I have to be short. But, coming from probably the richest country in the world, and being in the situation that I earn more than I spend every year, I would say that economic freedom is better in Norway. Did you know that Norwegian authoroties have saved nearly as much as US spend in Iraq per year, in only 5-6 years? Considering that we are only 4,500,000 peole, I would say that is amazing. These money are invested around the world, and will be spent on pensions when the "old people boom" comes. In Norway absolutely everyone has the right to a minimum pension, and most people have saved private pensions on top of that.

Tore,

That's all nice - but you're avoiding my question (probably because you know what I'm getting at). ;)

This debate isn't likely to go anywhere - in a previous post, things like buying a beer at 16, euthanasia, prostitution, etc, have been referenced. Were the situation reversed, I personally would find it hard to build a strong case based on what are far more marginal issues (with the possible exception of euthanasia).

But on a friendly note, enjoy your vacation with your family.

Kevin
