I think you are trying to read something more profound into my post that was intended. Both Russia and Turkey are countries that are in both Europe and Asia.
- for total size of country, regardless of continent, Russia is bigger than Turkey
- for total size of the portion of each country that is in Europe, Russia's european part is bigger than Turkey's European part
- if you look at the largest European countries that are completely within Europe (Germany, France, Spain), the part of Russia that is on the European continent is still larger than any of those.
