Right, but if he was snotty there would have been no need for even a 'hello' by the cop if there was no such law in the first place.
I can tell you this: if I was confronted by a cop for jay-walking I would look around to see if any others are doing it and point them out, and/or I would ask him how many tickets he has issued in thelast week for the same offense. If it wasn't in the hundreds I think I might get snotty too.
