I think it's safe to assume the current lack of updates to IMPORT will be continued. After all, they didn't update it for Access MDB files, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, or any other common data format.

There are better ways to get to external data than hard-coded IMPORT. They've been telling us this for years.
