One of the first posts I made here was an strong objection to, and annoyance of, the use of the expression "forward-slash" when giving out web addresses on the TV or radio. I thought things were calming down and that people were gradually cottoning on to the fact that there's no need to say "forward" (there's no such char on a keyboard).
But I was dismayed last week when a woman on TV said something like: "This is ideal for any boy - forward-slash - girl".
I nearly choked with apoplexy!
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
