>I just thought of another possibility. I've seen strange things happen with unexpected or "corrupt" characters in memo fields. One that usually causes trouble if present is CHR(0). You could write a little program that scans the memo fields for low or high ASCII characters and clean up as required.

Yeah, I've had problems using XmlToCursor() to convert an xml converted by CursorToXml if a memo field of the original cursor had one of those characters (can't recall what at the moment), even when I set the option to set the memo field in CDATA section.
