Well, people can get used to things, but if you have to "get used to it" that may indicate it's not a great UI design to begin with. What I dislike about many web sites is the placement of buttons that are integral to the site all over the place. With wide screens, it makes them really spread out and not always obvious, yet I see no real advantage to this. Most likely it's just the designer being more worried about looks than functionality. I don't want stodginess, but I value function over flash. This is the way IE 7 seems now, with all the buttons spread out and for what reason or advantage? I don't know. Can I get used to it? Yes. Is there a point? Not that I can see. So I look at the Vista interface with some skepticism.

>>Well, they've placed the Home button and the Print button and others onto a separate toolbar and stuck it way over at the right. This makes it way out of the way on my notebook running at 1920x1200. I've tried to move it around like you can with other toolbars and it simply won't move. The other thing was is that I was trying to get the toolbars to stay where I put them without locking them, but they seem to have a bad memory and they sometimes come up in different spots. I use the MS DevToolBar and it causes problems. It likes to draw itself taller than it needs to be and therefore just wastes space. Right now it is open, but seems to have lost all its buttons (haven't seen that one before). Basically, I'm not overly impressed with IE 7. Hopefully it is truly more secure.
