Gee, I haven't seen this exact message, but after upgrading my machine from 64 MB to 96 MB, I have had some older apps report "not enough memory".

Note: Some older motherboards might accept more than 64 MB of RAM, but not recognize it correctly. I recall that in some cases a BIOS upgrade will help, but sometimes the motherboard itself has a "hard-wired" limit.

So, I guess this confirms your suggested cause for Bill's problem.
