Are you thinking of that high-pitched wailing that accompanies much Bollywood music? As I understand it, the popular Bollywood star's name is Asha, and also AIUI, it is her whom's referred to in the Cornershop song "Brimful of Asha on a 45" - as Asians they were complaining of the constant, ubiquitous wailing of Ahsa coming from 45s in their neighbourhood. :-)
