There was a story on the internet yesterday about vets saying they are seeing more animals with dementia. This is due to improved health care of pets. So they are living longer.
I remember the last time I went to the vet with both my guys. One lady started talking to me cause she was so surprised I was able to carry both guys in one pet carry bag. An older guy there joined in and was choking back the tears. He had put down 1 of his cats 1 yr prior and his other cat was on her last legs.
>No, actually, as the vast majority of people who bought the "1001 things to do with a dead cat" book were cat lovers, so am I.
>
>I had my cat "Fingers" for 19 years and had to have him put down about a year and a half ago, as he was on his absolute last legs (dragging his hind legs behind him, and looked like he'd swallowed a frisbee whole). One of the worst days of my life.
>
>I named him that (as a 6 months old kitten) cos I discovered that, as well as dew claws, he had thumbs, with extra claws slotted between various toes, on his front paws. He had 6 obvious digits on one paw and 7 on the other.
>
>He was people, man.
>
>>Oh. I take it you're the one they're referring to in the list of things guys say to girls:
>>
>>"Don't tell me how special your cat is. He's still a cat!"
>>
>>>>
I'm a cat person too. I had a girlfriend a while back who had both. And the cat was more fun to play with. So I finally got my own a couple yrs ago. >>>>
>>>>My wife turned me into a cat lover. Cats are great. We have persians - they're the perfect breed, as far as I'm concerned. They like to play, but they're also very laid back and even-tempered. They've never growled or hissed.
>>>
>>>They always hiss on the BBQ!
