Graig,
The way VFP handles numeric values is certainly not exactly like other Windows programs. Personally I've had many, many complaints of how VFP handles the entry of numeric values, esspecially with decimal points.
An example is that it is impossible to have the cursor behind the last digit (Though I believe there is a obscure trick to do this) while that is possible in any other windows program. I've seen too many instances where the user disagrees with (what here is proclaimed) the windows standard.
Walter,
>Disagree or not, it should work as your users expect, not you. Being that the way you want it to work is contrary to Windows guidelines and works differently than other programs, your users may not be happy with it.

>>I would tend to disagree with Jim's view , especially where numeric input is concerned. In most cases, if you are ameding a number, I think it is actually faster to just land on the box and type in the whole number, otherwise you need to 1) ensure that you click in exactly the correct postition and 2)you will be entering just part of the number , when I think the natural inclination is to enter the whole number which is probably on a docket
