In a dropdown combo you can enter a value that is not in the list. If you (the programmer) don't add the new value to the list, then, yes, indeed it will display blank. IOW, the cbo won't automatically add new values to itself.

>I've run into exactly this problem recently. It seems that if the value you want displayed in the textbox portion of the controlbox isn't in the drop-down portion, it will blank out the display.
