Title:
Control Location (Top/Left)
All --
Is there a way to determine the "absolute" top/left coordinates of a control? By absolute, I mean the actual coordinates on the screen, NOT within the control's parent container.
For example, if I put a TextBox on a Form, its .Top and .Left properties reflect its position within its container -- in this case, the Form. What I need to know is, where is this control in relation to the actual screen (VFP desktop)? Considering the fact that the control's container (form) is movable, I reckon this means that the control's "absolute" coordinates are dynamic, just as the form's coordinates are.
Would it make sense to develop a formula that derives the absolute top/left from the top/left coordinates of the control's parent container? What if the control is nested in two or more containers, such as in a Grid within a PageFrame on a Form?
Have any of you run across this problem before? If so, how did you solve it?
TIA -- Bill
