I have never met the guy, but I have learned a lot from the code that he has done. However, this doesn't seem to follow and logical or consistant flow. Might not be his fault... I know a half dozen or so other developers have had their hands on it.

I wouldn't have minded how long it took to hit the DAL, just as long as it was consistant and somewhat logical!
