Thanks Don.

>It's been a while since I was doing that, and I'm not sure of the LATEST version of ACT!.. I think the one released after the one my client had (which they wanted me to integrate with), was easier to work with WITHOUT having to go through Stonefield. I cant remember the features, but I think they did have some importation features, but I think was tighter on export.

>Hopefully someone more current with ACT can help you out here, but I would download the free trial and get the documentation to give you a better feel for your integration needs.

>>Hi Don,
>>
>>this doesn't sound good! We'll be having millions of records in our database (it's a tourism oriented application and they want to send out targeted marketing info to sub sets of the data) so MS Dynamics doesn't sound good.
>>
>>I guess you are talking about Stonefield Query for ACT, which is only a reporting tool. So are you saying there is no way to point ACT at my own data or to push my own data into ACT?

>>>>Has anybody any experience doing this? Is it as simple as point ACT! or whatever at my database and telling it this field is the email, this other one is the address and this third one is the person's name?
>>>
>>>I've worked on Act with another client who originally had the MS Dynamics, and it choked on performance... almost 10 minutes (no exaggeration) before the initial screen would present itself.
>>>
>>>As for working with ACT!, I don't remember which version they had, but the only way to get at the data was by using a third-party (by Stonefield) to get at the data as it was on SQL... Something about they way they locked down the database, tables, etc.
>>>
>>>Good luck
Frank.
