I salute your sunny optimism. If you asked me to name a conference that chronically underachieves in the NCAA tournament I would say "Big 12" without hesitation. We'll see. Maybe they're tougher than usual this year.
>"Beat the hell outta some_team" is an actual yell by the student body and not the margin of a win. Catch the A&M - Longhorn double overtime game last night? Acie Law is as clutch and smart as they get.

>If the NCAA puts A&M, KU and Texas in different brackets, the Big 12 will have a good shot at having 2 or 3 teams in the Final Four. As for KU choking, the game was at KU, and A&M defense had as much to do about that as anything else. And don't talk to me about bad calls - Durant gets the Dwayne Wade calls of the NCAA. I'm sure A&M didn't have any bad ones go KU's way either.

>>I wouldn't exactly call a 69-66 score 'beating the hell'. KU out-rebounded the Aggies by a wide margin, and had an 11 point lead in the 2nd half before KU choked.

>>I'll give A&M and Acie Law credit for a good comeback in the 2nd half, yes....but it was as much a combination of horrible play by KU in the last five minutes (and two really bad calls) as it was the play of Texas A&M. I'm not discounting A&M, they are a real threat in the Big 12. But if they meet up with the Jayhawks again (and I hope they do), I think the final result will be quite different.
