Can't comment on whether employers will think that VFP is close enough to VB .NET, although you should be able to argue that you are better qualified in oop than VB developers.

I can say that I found VB .NET very easy to pick up when coming from a VFP background. In fact, the actual language is great - a lot of features that we don't get with VFP.

Of course the data is anther matter...
