It's still a documentary, or as they call it, a mockumentary. It does have a lot of sit-com values though, so I will call it a combination of both.
Actually, the more that I think about it, it is more of a sit-com, with the documentary thing so the characters can give weird looks at the camera (kind of a laugh-track thing), and so they can "interview" certain characters to see what they are thinking.
It's quite well done, I think.
