How can we do without weapons. Where are all our ex-generals to go if they can move next door to Amex Missles the year after they make sure that they got the contract to send 100 missles to Taiwan, Iraq, Japan, S. Korea, Canada, etc.

>>So I expect that taking on large numbers of cheap immigrants it would have a postive effect on the economy if that is the driving force on keeping wages low.
>>
>>But these low-wage people affect the statistics re child welfare etc to which you referred.
>>
>>Long term, those immigrants will be a power-house for the economy. Besides, one day you and I will be old and we will need young people to look after us and our needs. If we have created a society with low birth rates that gives us a better standard of living this year, we may have some regrets in our dotage. ;-)
>>
>>I don't really see what they will do to make friends with the arabic world.
>>
>>It won't be easy- once a community becomes entrenched in poverty and hatred, it's hard to shift. That's where lots of $$$$ can help.
>
>Now imagine what would world look like if the $$$$$$$$$$$$ (had to add a few more) which were wasted on weapons in the first place were used this way from the beginning.
