>Oracle 8 for Novell:
>Before I reinstall this mess, I have a couple of quick questions. 1) We installed the Oralce Client Software on a Networked drive for dual administrator access. 2) We have the server software installed on a seperate test server. The repository database is setup on that same server on a different volume. 3) The client software was installed via a network install on my workstation. Does that sound right??? Do you think we should reinstall the all the Client Software on the Networked drive, remove everything from the workstations, then just reinstall the SQL*Net at the workstations first? If we have the Oracle Client Software on a Networked drive what is necessary to be on the workstations? aaaaahhhhhh..... Thanks Mark - Victor.

From my experience, you should be able to run the installation from a networked drive. Make sure the Oracle home search path is part of your environment search path. The key is getting the right information in TNSNAMES.ORA then setting up the ODBC DSN. SQL*Net has to be running on the server side as well (generally referred to as *the listener*).
