Machine is 2.6G with 256MRam and 33G HD space available, running xp2. What is happening is this:

VFP7 application originally installed in a win98 environment. Ran fine..
Now in the above machine, this is what happens:

If the user has just started the machine up in the morning, everything runs fine - good speed, etc. But, later in the day, she might have outlook open, word open, maybe excel, and then she runs the application..

Instead of a 6 second load, it can take up to a minute... Trying to access a table for viewing can take 40 seconds or more, closing the application down can take a minute. Yet if this is the first application run after startup it performs well.

Even if she closes all other applications and only runs the vfp one, it is still slow. It only runs at an acceptable speed when the machine first starts up.

Temporary files are located on the users hard drive.

This is unacceptable.


Any ideas on what is causing the slowdown?
