Carbon credits... hmmmm. Something wrong with that. That's like saying it is ok to murder someone as long as I can afford to give money to someone else over there. What about tax breaks - and not for the rich who can afford to have solar systems installed on their homes or purchase expensive vehicles - but for lower to lower-middle class income households who use less than the average amount of energy over the year? If the power companies would average it out and then send an annual statement, we could submit it with our tax returns. In Fayetteville, I got a very small credit each month if I used less energy than the average homeowner in my area. It was usually around 37 cents to $3.00 tops per month. If the goal is to use less energy, then award those who do and not just those who can afford NOT to.

I was trying to make the point that the warming we see now is could very well be part of a natural cycle that has repeated many times during the earth's history. What bothers me is that anyone who dares to differ with the current paradigm is automatically a stooge of big oil.
