Well, actually, your application could have had any kind of problems after a Windows Update, then, as most of these problems has to do with where you (as a non-admin user) have the right to write or modify files.
Where are you generating the problematic files? You should be doing this in the Document and Settings\
folder. There are several ways to get the correct path to this one (the most common by using WSH).
I guess that given the user level you mention, you will not have users switching to Vista by tomorrow, so you have some time to improve this part of the application. It will eventually happen as they start purchasing new PCs, so it is not something you should delay for too long.
