I have create a class that adds users to the application based on there NT role groups matching roles groups in the MM roles table. The class then adds the user to the MM roles that match NT role groups it finds. This has placed most of the security maintenance (adding users assigning them to role groups) in the hands of the NT security folks and appears to be working well.
The field in the roles table that I have used to do this is the description. Since most of these NT role groups don’t have a very descriptive name I’d like to add another field to the table to hold a more descriptive name for the groups. My question is would MM have any problems if I where to add a field to the roles table? I can try it and see if anything comes up but if anyone has done this and knows for sure I’d feel more confidant about making a change to the table. I don’t want to have an error creep into this because I missed something.
