Launching a war opens all kinds of possibilities. None of them good.

So does sitting around and doing nothing. There is one possible good ending - victory. We might actually be able to put an end to this mess.

Did you read the intelligence estimate last year, that the Iran govt was in serious trouble with it's own people. But all this saber rattling by bush has given the govt there new life?

In many instances, a dictatorship will always have unrest with their citizens. Any attack on a such a country just exposes these weaknesses. Iran took our hostages in 1979 and sponsored the attack on the Marine barracks in 1983...are you going to try to come up with some rationale that Iran did this simply because our country rattled their cages at the time.

But you obviously don't care as you appear to be in the I don't have, I don't want, I don't need, any Muslims in my life and they should all die mode.

That's a totally irresponsible comment. We're not stopping Iran from being a free country. I haven't been sitting in my backyard since 1979 screaming "death to the muslims"

The US bombs Iran. We just made an enemy of lots of Muslims thru out the world. What's to prevent them from committing some kind of suicide attack within our borders?

What's to prevent them NOW from deciding to attack???? They attacked our barracks in 1983. These terrorists no doubt sit back and watch all of this bickering in our country, and likely reads the New York Times, as we come up with all these reasons why we shouldn't defend ourselves. So long as our foreign policy is tained by appeasement and apologists, we will continue to be prey for these terrorist nations.

What's to prevent other countries voicing their opinions by withdrawing funds from the US. There have been several incidents like last week where a small blip sent the US stock exchange into a minor nose dive. It wouldn't be hard to send it into a major dive.

But then I'm sure you would be just for nuking any country that was complicit in any actions resulting in harm to the US.

Sometimes you have to take a stand...otherwise you have no end to massacres.
