Thanks for the input guys and gals. The problem is that we have a data driven menu builder where everything is held in a table. The program determines what the user can get to and uses macro substitutions for every command. However your comments have given me the idea of extracting all those macro commands into a prg and calling that from the main prg. In theory this should work.
