An extremely high level of ignorance. How do you fight it?

I've had this discussion with coworkers who think a little more clearly. I grew up thinking that something like the German concentration camps could never happen in the US. But the ease with which people like Kevin, John, Edward would want to push a button to kill 100s of thousands, if not millions of people is truly frightening.

>>Stop fantasizing about the nuke as an easy answer and start thinking about how you can use your money, contacts and intelligence to manage the threat.
>>
>>Manage the threat? Good lord, what does that mean?
>>
>>When a suitcase nuke explodes in your neighborhood, talk to me again about managing the threat.
>>
>>I prefer a nuclear weapon.
>>
>>You don't manage a war....you FIGHT a war.

>Ohh lord.... I did not even expect this level of ignorance....
>
>How do you fight a war against an invisible enemy? By killing their remote relatives?? And you don't think that would enforce and motivate the terrorists ?? Good grief, You don't know a lot of terrorism do you ? If you have deepened into the conflicts like nortern ireland IRA, nothern spain ETA, Isreal - palestinian conflict. You would know that this does not help a bit, and that every counter attack would induce more violence.
>
>So I suppose you would have suggested to nuke northern spain, northern ireland and isreal and libanon, totally ignoring that their network stretches far further than that geographical place.
>You appearantly know that the majority of al-qaida networks are scattered accross europe and other parts of the world.
