When I give the following command from the DOS prompt, it works:
erase c:\garbage\*.* /s /q
When I repeat the self-same command with a RUN command, nothing gets erased.
Since any possible error message disappears too fast, I created a batch file, with the following contents:
erase c:\garbage\*.* /s /q
pause
When I execute this with the RUN command, I an error message "Invalid modifier - /s". (Translated from Spanish)
What is going on? Does the RUN command use a different version of the command interpreter?
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
