I am trying to understand better how VFP works with local and remote views (in order to decide whether to use SPT or remote views for Client/Server).

1. Local View and VFP Data as back end.
If you do not call Requery(), does VFP still automatically update the view from the data source on some periodic basis?
When you have a local view, is it a must that the VFP table(s) on which the view is based have to be open all the time?

2. Remote View and SQL Server database.
Pretty much the same question: If you don't call Requery(), does VFP automatically update the view from the SQL Server table on some periodic basis?

Thank in advance you for any input.
