>I am a firm believer that the safest way to get there is to go the same speed as the rest of the flow. If traffic is moving along at 45mph - I go 45mph. If traffic is moving along at 80, I go 80 :o)

Whenever we changed duty stations in the Air Force we had one week of classes on local customs, a visit from the local state police to tell us about driving in their state, etc.

While in Orlando, Florida, a state policeman told a story about a lady he had stopped on hiway 50. The speed limit was 35 miles per hour and she was doing 50. The lady said, “Well, the sign said 50 so I was going 50”! The officer replied, “Lady, what were you going to do when you merged onto 440”?

>>And how fast do you drive on I-40? <g> I bet pretty fast when your daughter isn't with you and conditions allow. Just a guess.

>>>I start out just after the split and just off Hwy 421. I shoot down I-85 to work every morning. It is such a breeze. 30 minutes to work, but that's because I have to get off I-85 after just 10-25 minutes and drive through town. Now, I could take I-40 to get there too, but I-40 here is a nightmare!!!
