>>>FWIW, and not to be used against me in a court of law (statute of limitations), the fastest I ever went was 128 mph somewhere on I-65 late at night. No other cars around, sober as a judge, just curious how much speed I could stand without getting nervous. The impressive thing was the car wasn't even breathing hard at ~4000 rpm.

>>128 is nothing, my '73 can even do better than that (135-140). The '97 does way better, I've had it up over 150 and there was still plenty of power left at that, and it seems like it's glued to the road (unlike the '73). Of course, that's all theoretical, you know. <s>

The Mustangs and the Corvettes are very slick cars. How's your Mustang do for MPG? The '97 Vette gets about 34 if I set the cruise control at about 72, while the '73 now gets about 15-16 with the new carb on it. It was getting 12 before, so that's a huge improvement. Might even do better if it wasn't so much fun to drive. <g>
