The 'quite different' part is what immediately soured my opinion of what I thought was going to be something VFP-like. I looked at some syntax examples and realized that now we get to learn another quite different way to get data from a table (yes - LINQ apparently gets data from other sources too).
I learned data handling in dBase, FoxBase, FoxPro, VFP, T-SQL, and I'm fighting the curve up to .NET. I had hopes that what I heard about data handling being VFP-like was going to happen, but it looks like LINQ is just another lanquage.
No offense intended by the way - I guess I'm just looking for something that LINQ isn't.
