>On a couple other threads I got lots of good information on the differences between VB.NET 2003 and 2005 Express and SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Express. Good stuff, and I've now installed the newer versions of both, but now I'm stuck with a book about using 2003 with 2000. Any advice on how I can still use this (non-returnable) book with some other resources to get the most out of learning? Thanks!

Jay,
Anything that you can do with 2003 + 2000 can be done with 2005 versions the same way (and also with more easier ways). IOW you have more detailed plumbing now. I don't know if anyone suggested it yet but if not follow my signature and download videos for .Net. The free set has plenty of stuff for absolute beginners both in C# and VB.
