What makes you think MS is dropping VFP? They didn't say they had discontinued it, just that VFP 9 SP2 was going to be the last new release. You'll be able to continue to buy new licenses of it for several years, support will be available until 2015, and Alan Griver told us that they'll continue to perform bug fixes (not likely little ones with workarounds but major catastropic bugs) until that date. To me, the term "dropping" implies that it's completely dead ie. you can't get it anymore and they don't support it.
