When the guys are working to rule, anything goes, I guess. It did get quashed though. A Friend of my neice was very embarassed by the fact that she got a ticket for doing 55 in a 50 zone. She wasn't angry about the ticket as much as embarassed by the crummy 5 clicks over.

We even had a cop in our area (not my street though) ticketing people for parking in their own driveways. You have to be x feet from the center of the road, and the bottom of the driveways are less than that, so if you don't park at least about half way up your driveway, I guess technically, you are in violation. He did an entire street, and again all the tickets were thrown out. The people were less angry about the tickets than about the fact that apparently he was laughing as he went from car to car.
