Its the Gaggia Syncrony Logic Espresso Machine. We used to have a Krupps but it finally gave out after 7+ years of service. I'm not sure where my wife ordered it from but I think we paid $599 (I've seen it listed from $599 - $699). If you figure close to 4 bucks for a cup at Starbucks its easy to justify the cost. This is pretty much a base super automatic with the features we wanted (double shot, grind/coffee amount adjustment and hopper bypass). I still have my manual bar pump machine that I used when my Krupps went out but what a pain compaired to an automatic.

Once you get it setup the quality of the espresso is just as good as from Starbucks if not better. Before they got fully automatic machines you were at the mercy of their barista as to the quality of the espresso you got. No Star Bucks in T-ville yet so I have to drive to High Point for beans.

>What is the make and model of that device? :o) Being a coffee connoisseur, I am always interested in an easy means of making GOOD coffee (especially espresso) at home! I used to have a small GE espress machine, but it got old. There is a Starbucks now that recently opened 10 minutes from my home as well and I pretty much live in the boonies :o)

>>It must be nice. The closest one to me is a couple of miles down Friendly Ave. at Quaker Village. At least I have this waiting for me in the morning <s> http://www.triadwebmedia.com/images/mygaggia.jpg - Just add some SB espresso roast beans, water and push the button.

>>>I don't have to take a side trip - whichever way I go, I work across the street from Starbucks! :o)

>>>>>Your route is pretty close to one I used to take (except I was leaving from the South Guilford county area). I used to take I85South to the new 311 up to Eastover. Now I bypass 311 entirely and cut over to Eastover from I85S via Vickrey Chapel Road using the backroads cutting through Jamestown. A nice drive actually.

>>>>>>Just about as bad after the split! Coming from T-ville to the airport area in the morning I cut across from I-85 to 68 using the new 311 bypass in High Point. On occasion I'll take 40 to 85 to head home now that they have added the new lanes. Back when it was 4 lanes to death valley I wouldn't go that route even when the furniture market was in town.
