Hi,

a couple years ago I asked what frameworks people were using for .NET development and came up with this list from people's feedback:

CSLA.net - free (well, the book costs $40 or so)
DotNetNuke - free
Ironspeed - $1995+
Mere Mortals - $699
DeKlarit - $899

I never got around to actually getting into any detail on any of those, but it looks like it will happen soon.

I am looking for something similar to the VFP frameworks I have used Visual MaxFrame Pro, Codebook and Mere Mortals which will allow me to quickly create applications that can be used as desktop applications as well as on the web or mobile devices, that is fairly affordable (less than $1000) or free.

I would like something that supports a multi-tier design using business objects as the middle tier.

Are there any new frameworks out there? Does anybody have any opinion about the frameworks that I mentioned above as to if they are good/bad/ugly? :) How about the support for those frameworks? Are there fora on the net available for them and are they active?

Thanks for any input!
Frank.
