>Most, if not everyone, has at least one similar story to tell.
Oh, way more than one. <g>
Way back when, I called my personal mentor Pete Olympia one day and asked for information about a local Fox user group. He replied that he was mystified why there wasn't one and suggested that I start one.
So I put a post on Foxforum. That simple act ended up starting TWO user groups, one in Virginia and one in Maryland, and later spawned the first of the "regional" conferences held in Virginia Beach.
Attendance for the first few meetings was sparse, but lively. For the 3rd or 4th meeting, our speaker was George Goley and it was the week the MS/Fox merger was announced. There was a marked spike in attendance. <g>
Shortly after that I got an email completely out of the blue from yag inquiring if I might maybe possibly consider relocating to Beautiful Hackensack. It came on THE DAY I'd thrown my hands in the air and given up on my job and decided to move on, so it didn't take a lot of convincing. (Still, *Hackensack*!?!?!?!? <g>)
And it goes from there....
Yes, there are a ton of stories. More than will ever be told, probably.
