>Yes I coded in assembler for 10 years and a miriad of other languages and variants. All of which led me to believe that I could be MOST productive with FP/VFP. It is not that we cannot or will not adapt but it is difficult to give up the best for a distant third best. When we spend time learning a new paradyne it is an investment in the future. And like so many VFP developers, my future is getting shorter every day (:>). Yes I will learn the new environment and language, and hopefully become as proficient with it as I am in VFP. I have already had to "forget" techniques hard learned in Visual Studio 1.0 / 2003 / still learning new stuff in 2005 to be discarded and relearned in Orcas.

>Yes change happens, but does it have to be so disruptive? Consider taking a car trip. You set out a route, make reservations along the way, plan gas stops, meal stops and upon the start of the trip the road have all changed, albeit, perhaps for the better, but now you must start all over again, and cannot find your way home.

I hope the antenna worked well for you. As to your metaphor, I guess at least we don't have to relearn EVERYTHING about how to drive. We just have to learn where the brake, accelerator, windshield washer, etc is located and how to use them....
