[Addressed to everybody]
I am staying with VFP. And so will my users.
That also means that ANY OS will have to double-chk with my VFP apps
for compatibility before being able to enter offices.
And I know menu other businesses who depend on that dusty
foxapp to carry out their business. (Sometime it is even rusty FPDOS app)
I don't personally believe that letter to MS will bring any results,
but I do know that it is US VFP-ers all over the world, who holds
menu offices door-keys for future software refurbisments.
So we do that.
What we have to do FOREMOST is to build better and cheaper
apps then NET crews. At the moment that is an easy battle.
(One capable VFP-er can outdo entire team of NET-HangingOver-MSSQL)
So we keep our users happy, and their businesses well taken careof.
If you already doing so, they will consult with YOU before buying that
shiny office 2011 release...
Don't get dicouraged/demoralised about announcements.
We are not 'dead poet society' here, WE are infact decision makers.
Aldough you might not even be aware of it.
If you are not able to build cheaper & better then NET, then move to NET,
otherwise stick with what you do best.
Things are progressing very fast in IT world, so weather Linux gets it's OOP xbase equivalent, or NET becomes equally efficient as VFP (2011?), we don't really care. We know data, we know OOP, foremost we know business & we are doing it for years.
They know that (MS), you should know that / think this way to.
Don't let anybody spoil your day :)
